Importing And Exporting Logfile Sessions
Studio provides an interface to export recorded logfile sessions, from a single-host or a distributed system, and import the logfile session to any other PolySync system. Always follow this process to export and import logfile data. Never manually copy files to the PolySync install directory. ### 1. Exporting from Studio Once a logfile session has been recorded using Studio, it can be exported with a few quick steps. 1. Start the PolySync manager. ```bash polysync-manager ``` 2. Start Studio with the desktop icon, or the command. ```bash polysync-studio ``` 3. Click theicon. ![Studio landing screen](https://help.polysync.io/releases/2.0.8//wp-content/uploads/2016/11/studio-import-02-with-emphasis.png) 4. This section assumes the logfile session has been copied to the target PolySync replay system. Follow these steps to import a previously exported logfile session. 1. Start PolySync manager. ```bash polysync-manager ``` 2. Start Studio with the desktop icon, or the command. ```bash polysync-studio ``` 3. The import status is shown with a loading bar. A textual status and description of the file transfer is provided in the [console](https://help.polysync.io/releases/2.0.8//articles/studio-console/) debug log messages. Once the session is visible within the logfile manager, it can be [selected for playback](/articles/?p=2164) by dragging the folder to the playlist.
