Logged Vs Source Vs Published Video Parameters
Parameters in the PolySync SDF Configurator for a video device or PointGrey are categorized by "Source," "Published," or "Logged." ### Source The source parameters in the SDF entry for PointGrey and video devices apply to the video data that is transmitted via shared memory from the dynamic drivers. This is the data that should be used in any nodes that are processing the incoming video data (and not just visualizing it). ### Logged The logged parameters in the SDF entry for PointGrey and video devices apply to the video data that is logged for future use. It is important to log in whatever format will be used later during testing and replaying of data. Generally, it is recommended that the same parameter settings for source and logged are used. ### Published The published parameters in the SDF entry for PointGrey and video devices apply to the video data that is published on the PolySync bus. This data is really only used for visualization (mainly in PolySync studio). As this is probably not the data a developer wants to process in the selected nodes, it is recommended that some sort of compression (H264) is set and that it is not too large of a resolution. Otherwise, it is likely that the Polysync bus will be swamped by image data messages and there will be bus contention.
